Foliation. (It may be useful to note a little Madonna in a corner
near the church of San Pietro del Castello, under an arch
foliated as opposite, (1)
A little beyond the gardens at the Fondamenta St Anna,
there are four low windows, of section and curve
D Da with three circles between: that on the left six
bricks about a rose very rich - on rt two busts, in
A centre, a flat sun, about J H 5 like something in London,
evidently later work: (Gutter above dogtoothed and
bracketed with bracket D.c.) and capitals as 2 opposite.
Lombard arch. Just beyond this house, on same side at Ponte St[y] Gioachino
is a Lombard brick arch: as opposite. To construct it,
make a b - 1 ft " 2 in: from b: to opposite side, same
point. 5 " 7 strike semicircle on the base 5 " 7 and
the outer on base 7 " 11: then divide in the proportion
marked, and of the voussoir bricks, x let there be 66
Most remarkable example of Lombard work in pointed round the arch: and of bent bricks y 22 m and about three
ruin close to Madonna dell ‘Orto. diamonds to each, or one to each voussoir Section at a2 b2
Wither it has been restored, or has had plain stone jambs.
