[M.147L] [M.147]	House opposite Ca D'Oro	147

To return. The capitals fig 1 have boy’s heads, insipid, and
the rude classical mouldings on their band marks a declining period
The shape of the great 4foils at fig 2 The lower cusps
of course sharp: and they have fillet both in 4foil and
arch. exactly as in house No 89. But they are filleted
Filleted only, not trefoiled - both in 4 foil & arch This is rare.
Cusps Beside this 4foil finestrata there are 4 det 6th without
cusps, and I think originally so, for their masonry is as
                                                                      		fig 3 p 57 l.
In the lower story the five six at are pure 6ths with
very delicate leaf finials - all in Sq and have had
inlaid marbles now gone. I suspect the upper story must
have been an addition. Of these six the two lateral
ones are larger by some 4 inches than the rest & this
The unusualness of this pilaster in a 4foil finestrata makes me think it the whole excess is thrown out so as to make the whole finestrata
added to correspond with lower;: if however as supposed below, the that much wider than the one above In each story there
lower shafts have been restored, this is not likely: & the use of are 3 shafts & four pils. and the detached square pils
the pilaster would only mark a declining period. are each on both angles. All these pils have same
heads as the shafts down to a - but have no band: of det.
windows also. The foils cusps of these lower story 6ths are
trefoiled - and coincide with arch at top, not leaving fillet
and these capitals though of the Bon school are better cut:
They have however which is suspicious, the classical ornament
