                                                                      		that the cavetto appeared to me constructed
                                                                      		thus - [diagram] but only of curves that blended into
                                                                      		one line [diagram] of this however I
                                                                      		cannot be quite certain, it is too small to judge:
                                                                      Staircase.	Of the staircase only the trefoiled arches remain only
                                                                      		at the top - plan being exactly that of the Bembo one
                                                                      		p 118 Selvatico - They have been as at fig 2
The steps themselves are merely decorated on the side with an incision		plain incised - like Doge’s palaces   Capitals rude
like a half bead:  ie. [diagram]                                      		leafy florid - seem to have been changed: All
                                                                      		carrying a renaissance looking plinth, fig 3.
                                                                      		An arch over a gutter which runs under the stair
                                                                      		is about a foot wide of the same trefoil as balustrade, very
                                                                      		pretty so drawn in darkness.
                                                                      		Below a in fig 1 is drawn the curious base, its roll and
                                                                      		cavetto - or rather plain pyramidal or conic base are of course
                                                                      		round on the square plinth which is in same block;  but now
                                                                      		half buried, the half shaft;  the band being in the middle,
